Decumbent or twining herb, with clear latex in all parts. Leaves opposite; elliptic, oblong to lanceolate, coriaceous, acute to attenuate at base, acute to acuminate at apex; margins entire, slightly revolute, ciliate. Inflorescences as 1–2-flowered cymes, extra-axillary. Sepals pale green or reddish brown, linear-lanceolate, sharply acute at apex, abaxially pubescent. Corolla tubular–funnel-shaped, upright, curved; corolla tube yellowish white to pinkish white with reddish brown bands or dots, glabrous to sparsely pubescent, inflated at base; mouth of the tube covered with long white hairs; corolla lobes narrowly lanceolate, basal part not twirled, yellow, midrib with long white hairs, folded outward in half lengthwise, upper part abruptly narrowed to a slender tail (tightly twisted in bud), loosely twisted. Corona double. Pollinium broadly ovoid, yellow. Follicles usually 2, linear-lanceolate in outline, green when young but turning reddish brown with age. Seeds oblong; coma silky white.
